Trim Doctor
The Trim Doctor is a tool for removing the 'crimp' from cases to provide a new edge for roll crimping and for manufacturing short or special cases. Typically a 3" case can be made into a 2¾" or shorter case.
A threaded adjustment gauge in the Trim Doctor holds the case in perfect alignment as the old crimp is removed. You will have a fresh, crimpable edge remaining. A regular full cut removes 1/4" at a time (about the same as full fold crimp). A 3" shell becomes a 2¾" and a 2¾" shell becomes a 2½" shell.
Can also be used to reclaim loaded shells simply remove the threaded guide and insert the loaded shell into opening. Turn shell while gently pressing on the blade guide, top of shell will cut off cleanly after a few turns and the components can be retrieved, usually including the wad.
