KG Industries Gun-Kote

Gun-Kote was developed for use on military weapons. The US Navy Seals were the first units to use Gun-Kote. Gun-Kote withstands 500 hour salt spray tests and still meets the military machine gun firing requirements. The use of Gun-Kote has grown from weapons applications to automotive, motorcycle and industrial applications. Gun-Kote is a thin hard coating that will give excellent protection from abrasion. It is not easily worn off such as blueing, phosphate or chemically blackened surface treatments. Gun-Kote does not attract dust or dirt, has excellent impact resistance and is non-reflective.

Gun-Kote is designed for professional use. Parts must be cleaned and degreased, then heated to about 120 degrees F(49 degrees C) then Gun-Kote is applied with an air brush/gun. The parts must then be allowed to dry. Once dry the parts are baked in an air circulating oven at 325 degrees F(163 degrees C) for at least 1 hour. Once Gun-Kote has cured the only way to remove it is by sand blasting.
